Mahjong can feel overwhelming at first but it doesn’t have to. Our lessons are designed to make the game make sense, fast. We break down the rules, rhythms, and strategies in a way that’s easy to follow and immediately playable.

You’ll leave knowing what you’re doing—and wanting to play again.

We offer lessons and sessions in the comfort of your own home or your favorite place. Have tiles will travel, we come to you. Whether it’s learning the game, hosting a party or even corporate retreats. Grab some friends and reserve your seat!

FAQ

  • Not at all! Mahj 101 is designed for complete beginners. If you’re unsure where to start, reach out, we’re happy to help you choose.

  • Yourself! All tiles, cards, and supplies are provided.

  • We come to you! We offer in-home lessons and can teach at your home or a location of your choice. This is a great option for small groups, friends, or private gatherings. Just reach out to coordinate details and availability.

    Adult Classes and Mini Mahj are also taught in my Rowayton home.

  • We teach American mahjong, using the current National Mah Jongg League card. We can also host guided play and events featuring other NMJL cards - think a birthday celebration with the card from your birth year!

  • No! Our focus during lessons is confidence, enjoyment, and learning at your pace. Strategy sessions and open play are available for players who want to go deeper.

  • Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged.
